Best Spots to Take Your Kids This Summer

Summer is almost here, which means the kids are almost out of school. Maybe you’re looking for the kids to get out of the house more. Maybe you’re looking for something for your kids to do while you’re at work, or maybe you’re looking for something for them to help make memories of a lifetime. Whatever that may be, here’s some local things for your kids to do this summer.

Kids Triathlon 2019

Lionville YMCA

For boys and girls, ages 7 to 14, who love to swim, bike and run! Top 3 male and female winners in each age group will receive an award in their age division, and all event finishers will receive a finisher’s medal. Participants ages 7 to 10 will swim 100 yards, bike 2.0 miles, and run a 1/2 mile, and participants aged 11 to 14 will swim 150 yards, bike 2.0 miles, and run 1 mile. TreeHouse World

West Chester

Located in West Chester, PA, Treehouse World is the place to explore and have fun with your kids. Activities include tree climbing, axe throwing, archery tag, trampolines and zip lining. Check out their newest attraction, “Walk the Plank”, a 20’ or 35’ free fall, or visit their website.

Marsh Creek Summer Camp

Does sailing, paddle boarding and kayaking sound fun to your kid? Send them to Marsh Creek’s Summer Camp, where your kids will learn hands on basic techniques for sailing and windsurfing, while also learning the importance of water safety. The 127,000 square feet indoor facility and 72 acre outdoor sports complex offers a variety of different camps and sports programs for your child. They have an assortment of different sports, including flag football, cheerleading, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse and so much more for this summer. Don’t know what to do with the kids when it’s raining? Take them to Jumpers, in Newton Square, to let them jump and run all they want. Jumpers prides themselves on offering a safe, clean, and exciting environment for children ages 18 months to 10 years old. Community Days

Upper Uwchlan

On Saturday, June 15, Upper Uwchlan Township will hosts it’s 11th Annual Community Block Party, beginning at 6:00 PM, on Route 100 between Byers Road and Park Road/Station Boulevard. Take the kids for some live music, entertainment (caricature artists, face painting, magician), bouncey houses, slides, a variety of food vendors, local businesses, community organization, and crafters. Make sure you stay until the end for some amazing fireworks.

Uwchlan Township 

Uwchlan Township will host it’s Community Day At LYA Fields, on Saturday, July, 13 from 4-9 pm. Activities include, numerous community organizations, band, DJ, face painter, balloon clown, Stubby the Helicopter, glow in the dark necklaces, giveaways, food, rides for kids, and fireworks.
